Re: UVA-Wise looking for big upset on the road

I don't see them ever getting over the top with the staff we currently have. The teams first two losses were coaching losses pure and simple. The last loss I am not sure because I was not there but I can imagine that 3-3-5 didn't do to well against a good running game. The teams we lost to minus this last game weren't losses because we didn't have better players but we have lack luster coaches. Take it for what it is but there is my two cents.

Guys we need to remember that we don't have the luxury of handing out scholarships like other schools in the toughest conference in the nation arguably, the Mid-South. We are always going to be behind the 8-ball,and special years are going to be few and far in between. We are usually successfull because we have young men who simply work above and beyond hard

I agree that some of it is coaching. I think the defense has played better this year but it seems that their fundamentals are terrible. Without Hippeard the past two years i dont think they would have won three games. I love the cavs and want them to win but face it Hippeard and his wideouts carried this team even with Rashad last year.

At least the good news is that Robbins will be stepping in as QB next year and he carries a good deal of experience with him.
    Officially retired

Re: UVA-Wise looking for big upset on the road

The thought of us losing because we don't have scholarships is not realistic because of a Georgetown fan telling me that they don't have many scholarships yet they are a tradition power which means they can win consistently and win big games. I would much rather be able to see us win because of the development of players threw our weight room and because of our coaching. We are not going to be able to win games consistently at least for the time being because of having better players so we need to better our coaching staff.

There is more to football than offense and defense. We need to develop a special teams game so we can have a better chance when it comes down to games like Union.

I agree totally that special teams have got to improve. That has been one factor that has held us back in a lot of games.

You base this on what a fan from Georgetown tells you? I would do a little research and see how their situation compares to ours. I bet they can get kids in that couldn't even last a day in class at Wise.

By saying special teams I mean every phase of our special teams game.
